The Professor's Briefing

VIBETHON 2.0 is an 8-hour, on-site vibe coding hackathon organized by ENCIDE at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam. Build with modern AI tools while demonstrating your own technical understanding, originality, problem-solving and product decisions.

AI can accelerate the work. Your team still owns the thinking, the decisions and the final product.

The crew behind the mission

ENCIDE is the coding club at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, and the organizer of VIBETHON 2.0.

Inside the eight hours

Three phases. One product built by your team.

  1. 01

    Ideation & Problem Solving

Teams will begin by understanding the challenge, identifying target users and their needs, and developing their solution concept.

AI assistance during this phase will be strictly limited to basic clarification and understanding. Teams must independently develop their problem interpretation, solution ideas, and initial approach without using AI to generate or shape their solutions.

This phase focuses on creativity, critical thinking, problem understanding, and independent problem-solving.

  2. 02

    Product Planning & Solution Design

Teams will translate their idea into a clear product and technical plan. This includes defining user flows, prioritizing features, planning the system architecture, designing the interface, selecting suitable technologies, and outlining the development approach.

  3. 03

    AI-Assisted Development

    AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT

Teams can use AI-assisted tools to build, test, debug, refine, and improve their solutions.

Teams are encouraged to embrace vibe coding through effective prompting, rapid iteration, and continuous evaluation, while maintaining ownership of their product decisions, technical direction, and final implementation.

  • Problem statement and proposed solution
  • Technology stack and tools
  • GitHub repository or source code
  • Final presentation or demo
How judging works
  • Innovation & Originality – How creative and unique is your idea?
  • Problem Relevance & Impact – How meaningful is the problem and how useful is your solution?
  • Functionality & Implementation – How well does the product work, and how effectively are the technology, code, and features implemented?
  • UI/UX & Design – How intuitive, engaging, and well-designed is the overall experience?
  • AI Utilisation & Prompt Quality – How effectively do you use AI through clear and purposeful prompts to enhance your development process? Relevant chat exports will be reviewed to ensure transparency.
  • Final Product & Presentation – The quality of the final product, demonstration, explanation, and overall delivery.
AI usage and transparency

Teams may be asked to keep a lightweight record of significant prompts, AI suggestions and their own decisions or modifications.

The judging brief lists relevant AI chat/interaction records for transparency. Final recording and submission instructions will be confirmed.
